Inter-Alliance International Group
"Raising The Bar"
Business Seminar
September 2004
The first full Inter-Alliance International Group Business Seminar
was held at the Windsor Golf and Country Club on the outskirts of
Nairobi from the 7th through to the 10th of September 2004. This
Seminar was the first one to be attended by a mix of Inter-Alliance
International (IAI) Consultants and Inter-Alliance WorldNet (IAW)
Members. With over 50 IFAs from all around the World and a select
group of International Product Providers, the Seminar was a truly
international occasion.
The location was ideal. Kenya's weather - cool and sunny - suited
those who wanted to try their hand at golf. And what a beautiful
championship course we had to play on there! Surrounded by coffee
plantations and against the backdrop of the beautiful Mt. Kenya,
it was a golfer's paradise. (Oh, and the numerous monkeys out on
the course seemed to enjoy themselves also).
The hotel was excellent. The cuisine was absolutely first class.
The main meeting room was spacious and the syndicate rooms tailor-made
for the 3 daily one-hour sessions that were set up.
The presentations made by the sponsoring Product Providers were
of the highest quality. Provocative and informative, entertaining
and challenging, they provided the ideal material for both experienced
and novice IFAs to improve their product and market knowledge. In
these days, where Regulators insist on continued professional development
by IFAs, the quality of the information and training provided was
excellent and timely.
Evenings were spent in a variety of interesting locations - at Carnivores
Restaurant, we ate crocodile (well, it was us or them); on our "Bush
Drive", we ate under the stars (and then got lost trying to
find our way home); at the Gala Dinner, we enjoyed a sumptuous meal
in a massive marquee set out on the lawn by the lake - simply fantastic!
These pages have been prepared to enable you to relive the Seminar,
if you were there, or to sample the quality of the meeting if you
missed out this time. Either way the message will be clear - do
not miss our next Seminar in Langkawi in May 2005.
I would like to take this opportunity to once again record my thanks
to all of our sponsoring Product Providers (see their details inside)
and to Elene and Soulla, whose work and commitment (not to mention,
patience and support) were invaluable in ensuring that everything
went to plan - Thank you one and all.
I look forward to welcoming you to Langkawi,
Best Wishes,
Brian
